The wobble stool, salt lamp, fake plant, and posters might seem like \"little things\" on paper, but in a classroom, they make a huge difference.\r\n\r\nAlready, the wobble stool has become a game changer for students who focus better when they can move. It gives them a way to regulate without becoming a distraction, and it helps me keep them engaged in learning instead of constantly redirecting. I've had to create a whole system on who gets the wobble stool on what days, they fight over it like elementary schoolers! The salt lamp and plants have also made the room feel calmer and more welcoming. The kind of environment where students actually want to settle in, take a breath, and try. We put some Christmas lights on the big tree this year and called it our \"classroom Christmas tree\". The posters have helped bring some personality and warmth to the walls, which matters more than people realize, especially for students who don't always feel a strong sense of belonging in school.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, my classroom feels more like a space that supports the whole student - not just academically, but socially and emotionally too. Thank you for investing in my students and in the kind of learning environment they deserve. Before your donation, my Biology and Anatomy classes shared very few functioning microscopes. This challenge made microscope focused labs inaccessible for all students. Thanks to your donation, the majority of a class of 24 students can now share a microscope with a partner instead of a team of four. This change has made a HUGE impact in our labs and for that I am very grateful. Thank you!\r\n\r\nMy students and I are very excited about the new addition. I paused our current unit on cellular respiration to give my Biology students the opportunity to complete a microscope practice lab with the letter \"e\" slides, and it was a success! Students are very shy about showing their excitement and overall their faces on camera, but just know they really were excited. One of the students that used one of the new microscopes exclaimed, \"Miss this new microscopes are fancyyyyy!\", and I agree. Thanks for helping make this happen. \r\n\r\nNext semester, the Biology students will have more opportunities to use microscopes when they learn about meiosis and mitosis. Students from all grade levels, especially high schoolers gained valuable insights into HBCUs, financial aid, postsecondary pathways, and resources to support their success. They also had the opportunity to connect with representatives from Umoja and The Hidden Genius Project.
