I teach at a magnet school for gifted and high-achieving students. We serve students in grades 6-12 from throughout our district. Students test for admission, and most students are functioning above the 90th percentile. All students are working at least one grade level above their actual age. The students in my school are a true melting pot of nationalities, religions, and economic levels, but the common trait that they have is the love of being challenged and learning new things. My students challenge each other, and me, to learn more and do their very best, both in and out of the classroom!
I teach an introductory law studies class to students in grades nine through twelve. In this class, my students learn about our court system and the adversarial process involved in court procedures. The class culminates with students competing in a Mock Trial.
Having Chromebooks available to my students will enable them to collaborate with each other as they prepare for the case.
By using Google Classroom, my students can work on documents in class and can continue working on the same documents from home - with several students on different devices working on the same documents. This would provide them with a very efficient way to prepare for their mock trial competition!
