My Students

My students live in a rural community. They are great students who work really hard, but with COVID some of them have felt their small town get smaller. To help with mental and physical fitness, we are starting a girls lacrosse club! As an assistant coach, I feel that, this is an opportunity for many girls who have never played a sport before to have a chance - and help them feel confident and connected to others.

My Project

This girls lacrosse team has created an opportunity for students to heal from COVID-19. Many have never had the opportunity to play on a sports team. Many of the athletes have felt isolated in the past couple of years and this gives them a chance to be a part of a team. While adding skills of teamwork and confidence in ones self.

Female athletes are often left behind in the sports world.

By creating a girls lacrosse team in a rural high school, I hope to empower the young women of tomorrow with skills and opportunities that will enable them to reach for dreams beyond their imagination. Please help give these girls a chance at being a part of a team.
