Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a kindergarten teacher for some of the most wonderful kids in the world! They are always excited to learn and show it often with excited gasps and "wow's!" Many of the students come from low income homes and 18 of my students have a first language other than English. This language barrier makes things tricky. We have to use many drawings and objects to help the students learn new vocabulary and understand what we are teaching. It is very beneficial for each child to hold their own object to really connect and understand a concept. I would love to add math manipulatives to our classroom. The kit that I am asking or will have enough supplies for 12 students at a time. This would be a wonderful addition to our centers and math time. Each student would be able to hold his or her own set of money, a clock, or other manipulatives to truly understand the concept being taught. These materials would not only help my class, but my partner teacher's class of kindergartners. These materials would last for many, many years to come. I think that these supplies would help kindergartners to help learn and improve math skills. Thank you so much for considering my students!
