My Students

My students need funds for more project-based learning.

My students come from a very diverse background.

They range from white middle class to refugees from Burundi. I have some students that read at a pre kindergarten level all the way to 4th grade level. There is a great need for differentiation and an even greater need for a creative outlet and an integration of the arts.

My Project

All of these resources will help unite my classroom through the arts. They will be able to learn through creating projects with these materials including the construction paper, tissue paper, glitter, pipe cleaners, markers, crayons, etc. Also I am planning on using the bins and organizers to set up two different centers with supplies already in them so that we will save time by having the materials all ready to go. I also thought the calendars would be a good way for the students to be able to create a gift for their family while learning at the same time. Many of my students come from rough backgrounds and one of the main ways I have seen students from different backgrounds come together is through the arts and project-based learning. I am hoping that this will help create a happy and safe learning environment for my students.

This donation will not only help unite our class, but it will also help students be able to express themselves, their culture and background through creating their own individual pieces of art that they can display for each other.
