Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Trenton, New Jersey, is (and this is amazing!) a sanctuary city. Students from nations all over the world immigrate to Trenton with their families. The city, although economically poor in many areas, is rich in cultures and heritage from all corners of the world. We have a growing population of Hispanic immigrants, most speaking their native language Spanish. Many of our students, both native and non-native to Trenton, struggle to meet basic health and hygiene needs each day. This means that it is extra important for us to make sure they are keeping cool in the classroom during the hotter months of the year.

The item I am requesting will help transform our classroom into a project-based learning space - I am requesting a bulk order of t-shirts for students to enjoy on our annual Fun Day and beyond.

These t-shirts will go a long way in ensuring our students have a blast during our Fun Day celebration that supports their social-emotional learning. I am requesting a variety of sizes of red t-shirts that we can customize for the kids. Students will be able to access them whenever they need!
