Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach English as a New Language to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Even though I teach students at all levels: beginning to advanced, in all of my classes we focus on literacy. I have found that using interactive and fun activities to teach literacy is motivating and invites students into the discussion/lesson.

It's been my experience when students are comfortable, confident and having fun, they are more willing to take risks, more apt to remember the material being taught, and more likely to participate.

The materials I'm requesting in this project will help me help my students! I am requesting materials and games that will provide my students with many opportunities to use figurative language, context clues, and comprehension to improve their literacy.
