My Project

I am a reading teacher for grades Kindergarten-5th grade in a Title I school in Raleigh, NC. My students are a diverse group who speak a variety of languages, come from many different places, engage in various extracurricular activities, and embrace countless new experiences. What they have in common is a desire to learn.

I want to give my students a cozy blanket and some healthy snacks to enjoy during the winter break.

I always gift my students with books for the holidays. Is there a better gift than a book? The only way to make it even better is to add a cozy warm blanket and some fun, healthy snacks to enjoy while they read. I love to spend my winter break snuggled under a warm blanket, reading a good book and munching on a yummy snack. I want to provide my students with the same experience.

The blankets and individually wrapped snacks will be included in a gift bag along with books that I have for each student and given to them the day we leave for winter break.
