I am excited to be back in the classroom this school year!
It's been a few years since I've taught and I look forward to teaching some amazing 2nd graders. Our elementary school is nestled in a farming community next to an Indian Reservation. We have a very diverse student body with lots of amazing culture.
I am a firm believer in hands-on learning and creating lots of opportunities for children to play while learning! I want each student in my class to feel safe, loved, and confident, especially in their learning ability!
My Project
It's important to have a variety of snacks on hand in a classroom. We eat lunch at 11 AM and sometimes the afternoon can become very difficult for each student to continue to focus and learn.
I want my student to be able to function at their best each day!
This cannot happen if a student hasn't been fed breakfast, didn't take the time to eat their lunch, or is hungry during that last hour of school. I like to be able to pull out a small package of crackers or a granola bar for students in order to get their focus back on the work and not on their hungry stomachs.
