Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love my students for their curiosity and their resilience. I love how they try again after getting something wrong, how they help one another, and how they light up when something finally clicks.

Snacks nourish my students’ bodies; books nourish their minds.

Together, they create a classroom environment where my students feel cared for, curious, and ready to learn—because when they feel safe, seen, and supported, learning thrives.

Snacks meet a basic need so my students can focus on learning. When they aren’t distracted by hunger, they’re calmer, more patient, and better able to concentrate, problem-solve, and regulate their emotions.

Books open doors. They build vocabulary, background knowledge, empathy, and imagination.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
