Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from a low-income environment where they are all able to qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Because of this, I often strive to give them different learning experiences that help them see outside the box. They are much more than my students, they are my family.

Would you be able to learn while hungry?

Our campus currently provides a full day of Kindergarten to all families. Our little learners are at school from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This is a very long period of time to be at school. Imagine not having enough fuel to push through an 8-hour day. With this project, my goal is to provide healthy and tasty snacks they can have that will help them stay focused on learning.

With this project, we will have options to give our little learners different foods to taste and experience. The variety of snacks will help us provide for those who have special dietary needs or food sensitivity.
