The instruments included in this project will be used to help my little learners create a beat to march to their own drum. My main goal is to use these instruments to teach our music theme, but also to help develop their social emotional learning. Some of the skills being introduced are cooperative play, self awareness, and listening skills. They will also learn how to maintain focus in order to follow multiple-step directions. With the smaller instruments, they will be able to demonstrate flexibility and develop their fine and gross motor skills. Some may not even know the names of the instruments and will be taught for the first time. This will create a chance to teach instrument names to develop their emergent literacy vocabulary. With these instruments, I would like for them to discover and develop an interest in the arts.
