Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help students practice life skills, creativity, and environmental responsibility:

Life Skills: Students will develop fine motor skills, learn to follow step-by-step directions, and build patience through detailed work.

Creativity: Students will explore jewelry making and design everyday objects (keychains, coasters, organizers) using the requested bottle caps, coffee cans, and other recycled and upcycled materials as well as the requested beads, kits, tools, paint, sealer and other materials stored in the rolling cart.

Sustainability: Students will learn the importance of recycling and reusing materials, seeing firsthand how waste can be transformed into something useful.

Pride and Independence: Students will create items they can use, gift, and display in our campus giving them ownership of their work and a sense of accomplishment.

By connecting recycling with jewelry making and everyday objects, students will learn that they can make a positive impact on the environment while building confidence and independence through their creations.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
