Because of your support, my students now have the incredible opportunity to call a curly-haired tarantula their class pet—and they couldn't be more thrilled. After much excitement (and a few passionate debates), they've christened her Beanie!\r\n\r\nBeanie has already become a source of curiosity, wonder, and meaningful learning. The moment she arrived, students dove into books and online resources to learn more about her species. While Beanie tends to be a bit shy, students have been lucky enough to observe her burrowing, spinning silk, eating a cricket, and—most thrilling of all—molting! That one moment sparked so many questions and learning opportunities. Some students who had never even heard of an exoskeleton are now holding one (which, let's be honest, might be the closest some of them ever get to holding a tarantula... 😄).\r\n\r\nWe hope to eventually allow students to take Beanie home on weekends to share this unique experience with their families. Watching their excitement, curiosity, and love for science grow has been truly special—and it wouldn't have happened without you.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us, thank you again for making this unforgettable learning experience possible.","fullyFundedDate":1737618428184,"projectUrl":"project/our-furry-friend-with-eight-legs-bringi/8957529/","projectTitle":"Our Furry Friend With Eight Legs: Bringing Science to Life!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Quezada","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9556974_orig.jpg?crop=272,272,x277,y168&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1721160579894","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrquezadasclass"},{"teacherId":9614052,"projectId":8992866,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has been transformed! The new resources have already made a meaningful impact on our students' learning experiences.\r\n\r\nThe moment the materials arrived, our students were filled with excitement—eyes wide, smiles everywhere, and eager hands ready to dive in. One student exclaimed, \"It feels like Christmas!\" Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it instantly set the tone for deeper engagement.\r\n\r\nWe recently used the new supplies for a hands-on project where students designed their own ecosystems. Using the materials you helped provide, they created dioramas complete with labeled components, food chains, and even climate data. Watching them collaborate, problem-solve, and proudly present their work was a powerful reminder of how important these tools are.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will be using these same materials to launch an inquiry-based science unit on environmental change. They'll collect data, build models, and explore real-world issues—all while developing critical thinking skills and curiosity.\r\n\r\nYour generosity gave us more than just supplies—you gave us energy, inspiration, and new possibilities. Your support has truly transformed our classroom, providing our students with hands-on learning tools that bring abstract concepts to life.\r\n\r\nRocks, minerals, and natural resources are not always the most engaging topics for young learners. However, with the addition of tactile resources, our students were able to explore the properties of magnetite, identify minerals and rocks, and even generate electricity through manual effort. The students eagerly examined these rocks and minerals, using magnifying glasses and microscopes to observe and compare their physical properties. Success in the classroom is unmistakable when the room fills with the students' audible expressions of awe and excitement. This interactive approach has not only deepened their understanding of scientific principles but also sparked a genuine excitement for learning about Earth's natural treasures.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, thank you for your investment in their education. Your generosity has had a lasting impact, inspiring curiosity and a greater appreciation for the sciences. We look forward to continuing to build on this momentum with the tools you've helped us obtain.","fullyFundedDate":1731192014794,"projectUrl":"project/science-is-electrifying-rocks-pun-ve/8626671/","projectTitle":"Science is Electrifying & Rocks!
