Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into our classroom everyday full of life, motivated, and eager to learn. They are extremely bright and energetic. We are constantly celebrating our love for learning.
From the minute they walk into our classroom, I want my students to feel loved, supported, and successful.
Our class is comprised of 30 first grade scholars from Baltimore City. They face many challenges both in and out of school. About 95% of my students are Black and/or Latino. Most students are from bilingual households and receive free or reduced price lunch.
I believe in my students. They have the potential to succeed. I am hopeful to steer my early learners on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
Technology is continually advancing. In order for our students to be successful, they must know how to use basic technology, such as computers, tablets, and iPads. My students have limited access to these devices.
Having iPads in our classroom will enhance our everyday learning experiences and allow access to a variety of learning resources, such as educational websites and applications.
The iPads will allow our students to be further engaged, dive deeper into particular concepts, and apply their knowledge in a multitude of ways. Furthermore, these materials will not only make a difference in my students' learning at school, but also enhance their experiences outside of the classroom.
