Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Project-based learning transforms my classroom into a space where students don’t just learn, they create, collaborate, and think critically. Instead of simply completing assignments, my students design projects and share their ideas in meaningful ways. In this environment, having the right materials is essential to bring their thinking to life.

Right now, my students are full of ideas, but they often lack the tools to fully express them.

Whether brainstorming on posters, creating visual presentations, or collaborating in groups, they rely on shared and limited supplies. I frequently see students trying to make do by sharing supplies, reusing materials, or holding back on their creativity because we simply don’t have enough resources. At times, I purchase materials out of my own pocket to ensure my students have what they need, but it is not always enough to support the learning experiences they deserve.

When students are given the opportunity to create, they become more engaged, more confident, and more invested in their learning.

The materials I am requesting, such as markers, colors, arts and crafts supplies, posters, answer boards, and storage, will support a hands-on, student-centered environment. These tools will allow students to visually represent their thinking, collaborate effectively, and take ownership of their learning. Organized storage will help keep materials accessible, maximizing instructional time and minimizing disruptions.

I have seen how powerful it is when students are given the opportunity to create and share their ideas. With the right resources, my classroom can become a place where learning is active, engaging, and driven by student creativity and voice. Your support will help turn their ideas into reality and empower them to take pride in their work.
