From Empty Space to STEM Innovation Hub

My Project

My students are curious, creative, and full of potential. This year, I will be teaching Chemistry, Physical Science, and Pre-Engineering, where students will be challenged to think critically, collaborate with others, and solve real-world problems. Many of my students learn best through hands-on activities, teamwork, and active participation. I want to create a classroom environment that encourages engagement, builds confidence, and helps students feel connected to their learning.

My goal is to transform an empty classroom into a collaborative STEM Innovation Hub where students can work together, stay engaged, and feel excited about learning.

The collaborative tables will provide spaces for students to work in teams during labs, engineering challenges, and problem-solving activities. Flexible seating options, including floor cushions and floor seats, will give students comfortable choices that support different learning styles and help them stay focused. The LED message board and poster display frames will be used to showcase student achievements, STEM career information, learning goals, and positive messages that inspire students throughout the year. The classroom incentive system will encourage participation, perseverance, leadership, and positive behavior by allowing students to earn and redeem tickets for rewards and recognition.

What makes my students special is their willingness to grow when given opportunities to succeed. Many students enter science classes unsure of their abilities, but they thrive when they feel supported, valued, and empowered to take risks. These resources will help create a welcoming environment where students can collaborate, celebrate successes, and develop the skills needed to become future scientists, engineers, innovators, and leaders. Thank you for helping transform this space into a classroom where students can truly thrive.
