Many of them immediately gravitated toward the new wobble stools and beanbags, testing out which seats felt the most comfortable for them. One student who often struggles to stay seated during lessons was thrilled to discover that the wobble stool let him move without leaving his spot, he proudly told me, \"I can sit AND wiggle!\"\r\n\r\nWe've already begun incorporating the seating choices into daily lessons. During small-group reading, some students curl up in the beanbags with their books, while others choose the stools at our work table to stay more alert. The freedom to pick their own learning spot has created a noticeable shift in the room. Students are more engaged, calmer, and better able to focus on the task at hand. Even transitions between activities have become smoother because they look forward to choosing their seats.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was during a math center activity. A student who usually finds it difficult to stay engaged worked for almost 20 minutes straight in a fidget-friendly seat, proudly completing all the problems. The right seating choice gave him the comfort and confidence to persevere.\r\n\r\nThe next step is to continue helping my students learn how to self-regulate by choosing the seating option that matches their needs for different activities. We'll be building independence as they reflect on what works best for them, whether it's a beanbag for reading, a stool for writing, or a quiet corner seat when they need space.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my classroom feels more inclusive, welcoming, and supportive of every student's unique learning style. These resources are already making a meaningful difference in how my students learn, participate, and grow.","fullyFundedDate":1749817352809,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-comfortable-and-engaging-lear/9078038/","projectTitle":"Creating a Comfortable and Engaging Learning Space for Exceptional Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Walsh","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9906128_orig.jpg?crop=4284,4284,x0,y499&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739547961339","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9906128"},{"teacherId":4584102,"projectId":8898508,"letterContent":"My students used the resources you so graciously provided, to make ornaments as gifts for their families and our classroom Christmas Tree.
