We are in the process of transitioning from a traditional art classroom set up to a student choice based TAB (Teaching Artistic Behaviors) STEAM studio-classroom. In our studio-classroom, students are introduced to the tools, materials, techniques and styles of artists, through brief, whole-group lessons. Working as artists do in a community studio, students assume the role of artists, exploring their own ideas, interests and passions. This approach to teaching art will allow students to explore a variety of materials and techniques to see what they are capable of making.
