My Students

I teach third grade at a diverse, Title I school in southwest Florida. Our students come from numerous cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. My students speak English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Chinese! Through lots of hard work, our school continues to help our students succeed.

We are currently off school (like most of the country) due to COVID-19 and students are working online.

My district had to supply laptops and internet for many families so they could be successful with distance learning.

My Project

Distance Learning is so different from regular school. I miss my students! And we're all suffering from WAY too much screen time! I would like to supply them with some non-screen activities they can do during this time and over the summer.

I have picked out a few things I think my students would enjoy.

These include binoculars and a book on birdwatching for kids, a terrarium kit and a book about gardening, and a math game and a book with math poems. I have also included snacks and a chapter book I think they would enjoy.

If this project is funded, I will bag up the items for each student and deliver them to their front porches (I live in the school zone of my school so it is nearby for me). THANK YOU for helping my students have a more enriching Distance Learning experience!
