Fresh, Confident, and Ready to Learn: Hygiene Essentials for Students

Help me give my students travel-size Degree and Secret deodorants, rinse--free body wipes, shampoo, lotion, dental-care supplies, and other hygiene essentials so they can feel clean, confident, comfortable, and ready to learn.

My Project

My students are bright, energetic, and full of personality, and they deserve to feel comfortable and confident when they walk into school each day. As their school counselor, I often see how something as simple as not having deodorant, toothpaste, lotion, feminine hygiene products, hair-care items, or a way to freshen up can become a distraction and affect a student’s confidence. I want my students to know they have a safe, private place to get what they need without feeling embarrassed or singled out.

These hygiene and personal-care supplies will help remove everyday barriers that can keep students from focusing on learning.

Travel-size deodorants, body wipes, shampoo, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, combs, picks, hair ties, and other essentials will allow students to take care of immediate needs and return to class feeling refreshed and ready to learn. Having these supplies available will also help me respond quickly when a student comes to school needing extra support.

My goal is to create a dependable hygiene and care closet that helps students feel seen, supported, and prepared for the school day. When students feel clean, comfortable, and confident, they are better able to participate in class, interact positively with their peers, and focus on their learning.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
