As a teacher in a Title I School, I strive to provide my students with engaging and hands-on opportunities. They deserve the best educational experiences to increase their skills and knowledge. I aim to create an environment that promotes numerous learning opportunites utilizing a variety of modalities.
My students are unique, determined, and inspiring individuals!
They are excited about learning and have valuable strategies to share! When we explore in the classroom, they contribute and feel valuable. These opportunities allow my students to demonstrate their strengths and connect with their peers.
The use of linking cubes in my fourth grade math classroom will allow me to create an atmosphere consisting of cognitively guided instruction. It will open up more possibilities for my students to demonstrate their solutions. Fractions and multiplication are difficult concepts for students to learn. The cubes will assist them in visualizing different parts of a whole, grouping, and partitioning. The possibilities are endless!
Is it fair to put a limit on students' mathematical thinking?
My students amaze me with their thinking everyday! As their teacher, I can build on their prior knowledge so they can make connections. Let students express their thinking in a variety of ways!
