My Project

I recently got some professional development that was very inspiring! Not once did the presenter state the 52 standards we could cover while teaching the picture books she was sharing with all 400 of us. The auditorium was so quite you could actually hear a pin drop with many of her books. The anticipation was high! Other times it seemed that every teacher in the room was laughing at one of her great books.

That day I was reminded that little kids just LOVE to be read to and it can be just for the LOVE of a great book.

We are so busy teaching standard after standard all day long and sometimes I, too, believe that we lose sight of just really enjoying our time together through an amazing story. The presenter spoke a lot about creating a loving culture through books. To be honest, there are some pretty tricky kids out there, and sometimes we all just need to stop and have a good time together. Will you help us to do that with these tremendous picture books? I really hope you will and so do all 25 of my kids.
