Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I have brought more art into my classroom and students are loving every minute of it. My hope is continue doing art with my students. Art supplies are expensive. I work at a Title 1 school and most of my students come from low-income families. Asking families to help contribute supplies is not an option.

Art is engaging and important.

It gives students the opportunity to express themselves. Many of my students come from trauma and art has been an outlet that helps them calm down and boost their confidence.

Through the arts they are creating pieces that they are proud of and can take home to their families. Some of the materials students including the mason jars will be used to make Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts and I would like to have a classroom Cricut machine to give students the opportunity to personalize and decorate their gifts. We are also in need of a drying rack for student's art. Currently we lay them around the classroom and the artwork is sometimes damaged. The storage containers are needed to store materials.

Please help me continue providing my students with art materials so they can continue to create masterpieces.
