My Project

I have been a school social worker for over 14 years. We have an amazing family with students from diverse backgrounds. As a social worker, I wear many hats from counselor to case manager, to confidant to homeless youth liaison, etc. Unfortunately, some of our students are faced with food insecurities.

There are students who may get one of their only meals at school.

There are many times throughout the week that students may arrive late to school and miss breakfast, do not get enough to eat at lunch, and may ask for extras to take home if there is food available. We have students that would benefit greatly from these items to help ensure that they are present and available for learning. Food nourishes the mind, body, and spirit.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
