My Students

My Columbus area middle school serves students in grades six through eight. This is such a fun age to teach because students are wonderfully considerate, unexpectedly witty, and relentlessly curious.

I am reminded daily that my students are capable of creating a better world and they are actively pursuing it.

My Project

All of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch on school days. For many of our students, non-school days can be a challenge. For some students, this can mean missing two more meals than usual. We want to prevent any missed meals and make sure every student has what they need to be healthy.

Missing meals can create a tidal wave of issues for students.

Students are more apt to have other health issues when meals are missed. Having food readily available helps a student's mood and social-emotional well-being as well. Finally, students can concentrate and focus better when they have the proper nutrition.

With your help, all of our students can be well-fed, regardless of the day of the week.
