My Students

My students are primarily minorities. All of my students receive free. 95% of my students live below the poverty level. Along with teaching my general Education classes, I also teach several small groups of special needs students. These are the students this project is targeting. All my special needs students are in inclusion class and yearn to fit in. Improving their hand eye coordination will help them feel more like a member of the whole class.

My students need to learn how to coordinate what they see with what they are doing, thus creating a natural flow of activity.

This equipment will allow me to create real world activities for my students. The skills they acquire will translate to the gym, park and the beach, allowing the kids to feel comfortable joining in with other children.

This newly honed ability will improve their reading and handwriting. My students will become more and more successful has this ability is practiced. Every student deserves to overcome challenges and succeed. These materials will do just that

My Project

My special needs students have difficulty performing task that require hand eye coordination. This not only affects their ability to play games with their peers it also hinders my students’ academic success. Their inability to coordinate their eyes and hands negatively impacts handwriting, reading, and math skills

Students will learn to manipulate various items including but not limited to balls, strings, needles, and jacks.

My student’s coordination skills will grow strong as their confidence builds as they achieve success with the games played using the requested material.

The children in my small groups will spend time each day using this equipment. I will mix academics with physical activities to enhance their hand eye coordination. Being able to participate with other students on a higher level will also boost their self-esteem and their willingness to try both new physical and academic skills. These items will allow my students to stretch and grow in a myriad of way. This equipment will bring joy to my students and put a bit of fun in our day.
