Focus Through Movement: Sensory Items to Help Students With ADHD

My Project

Fourth grade is a magical year! I teach an amazing group of kiddos from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a diverse Title I school. Over half of our students are from low-income families. Some are learning English, some are students of color, some are striving readers, and all are magnificent young people with curious questions, big ideas, and bright futures!

Many of my students have ADHD or trouble staying focused while in the classroom; they need movement to help them learn best!

This project requests several fidgets that my students can use to stay focused. I'm also requesting some wiggle seats that students can put on their chairs or on the floor to provide some movement while sitting. Additionally, the under-desk pedals can be used while students are doing work at a desk or when students need a physical break. All of these items seek to increase the ability of my students to engage in their learning and growth!
