This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
There are 15 beautiful and unique students in my pre-kindergarten classroom that range in ages of 3, 4, and 5 years old. They come from diverse backgrounds, with diverse levels of educational experiences and are multi-lingual.
Many of the students live in generational poverty and come to me with their own set of issues and bad experiences, but regardless I keep my expectations for them high while making their school experience a positive one.
Our school is situated in the most dangerous section of the fourth most dangerous city in America. However, 99.9% of them love coming to school every day, where they receive love and attention from their peers and teachers, breakfast, lunch, snack, and a quality education.
My Project
The Acer All-In-One computer will be used to collect, store, and print materials essential to the daily operation of our classroom. The USB extension will allow the printer and scanner to hook up to the computer.
The flood which accorded in January 2018, destroyed basic operating essentials in our classroom.
The pipes froze due to cold weather conditions. The whole school closed due to the water damages and the poor air quality.
At this time, we are housed at another school using their equipment; we will be able to return to our school in September 2018. It would be awesome to start the school year off without any glitches. Woohoo!
