Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is located in the poorest school district in America. The average yearly household income is under $9000 and the crime rate is extremely high. Despite their environment, my students are resilient. Ninety-nine percent of students in my school graduate high school in four years and are accepted to a four-year college during their senior year.
My students are some of the most inspiring individuals I've ever met.
They encourage each other to be the best they can be. They have high expectations for themselves and they meet them. They are serious about their educations and getting into college to break the cycle of poverty.
My Project
We don't have much in terms of technology. A class set of ten Fire tablets would help students tremendously by making it easier to differentiate learning for my students
Kindle Fire tablets will allow me to create a learning center where my students can receive individualized instruction.
Having the cases will ensure this technology lasts throughout the school year and beyond. With these tablets, students can extend the knowledge they learned about Google Apps in technology class. They can re-watch lessons that they are struggling to understand and engage with individualized material to reach their fullest potential. Lessons will become more interactive and engaging.
