Flip the Script: Reimagining Our ELA Classroom

Help me give my students a more interactive ELA classroom with an iPad Air that supports flipped instruction, digital annotation, small-group learning, immediate feedback, progress monitoring, and multimedia storytelling.

My Project

My eighth-grade ELA students are curious, creative, and full of ideas. They learn best when they have opportunities to interact with what they are learning instead of simply receiving information. I want to create a classroom where students can take greater ownership of their learning and where I can meet them where they are.

An iPad Air will help me flip our classroom by allowing me to create short instructional videos and model reading, writing, and annotation strategies that students can revisit when they need additional support.

This gives us more class time for meaningful discussion, writing conferences, small-group instruction, intervention, and enrichment.

The iPad will also allow me to move beyond my teacher desk and bring instruction directly to students. I can provide immediate feedback, conference with students about their writing, monitor standards-based progress, and adjust instruction in real time.

Beyond traditional reading and writing, students will use the iPad to strengthen their communication and media literacy skills through digital annotation, fluency recordings, multimedia responses, research, presentations, and digital storytelling.

This resource is not simply another screen in our classroom. It is a tool that will help make our ELA classroom more flexible, interactive, creative, and responsive to the individual needs of my students.
