My Students

My students are amazing but come from some horrible circumstances. They are bright, loving, and creative. Once I am able to make personal connections, and earn their trust, the learning environment increases daily. They are all African-American and receive free or reduced price lunches. Life is especially hard for some of these children. It is hard to do your best when you do not have a home, food, you are worried about Covid, or are lacking school supplies. Although their lives are tough, a majority of my rock stars give me 100%. This is why I strive to help each of them in any way that I can!

My Project

If you have ever been in an 8th grade classroom, you know that these amazing kids are growing at supersonic speeds. Most of the students fit into the one size fits all desk, but what can be done for those who are wanderering or fidgeting? The answer is flexible seating. It offers change and choice in a world that may seem confusing and harsh at times. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
