My students are a group of 23 third graders from a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. They are a fun group of high energy learners. They really love to learn and soak up all experiences and knowledge that they can!
Our goal this year is not only to learn everything we can but also to develop the habits to be successful contributors to our world.
We are learning to make good choices for our learning and our futures. Who knows what my students might bring to the world!
These materials will provide flexibility and choice for my students' learning. Research shows that students can focus better when they have more choice as to where they are working.
Flexible seating will also provide my students with increased independence as they learn to make choices that support their learning.
Third grade is a big year in terms of independence. My students are becoming big kids! By giving them more choice in where they sit, this helps them build independence. This also helps them to see that they are in charge of their learning. I can not wait to see the independence that comes from this project!
