Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a first-year teacher, I am beginning to recognize the wide range of diverse needs students bring into the classroom, particularly when it comes to how they learn, focus, and engage with instruction. Through daily observation and reflection, I have noticed that some students struggle with maintaining attention, managing their energy levels, and staying physically regulated during lessons. With this project, I aim to diversify our seating arrangements in order to better support students who experience focus deficits and shorter attention spans. By providing flexible seating options, students will have access to tools that can help them channel their energy in productive ways, remain engaged for longer periods of time, and feel more comfortable in their learning environment. Ultimately, my goal is to create a classroom space that is responsive to individual needs, promotes self-regulation, and empowers students to become more devoted, confident learners.
