Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The limited seating options I have in my class help students to work in a traditional classroom style. But we all know students have unique needs. Many of my students prefer to sit on the floor and work or read. They use our tall table and our "Rockstar Chair" (which is a cozy reading chair I brought in from home). But those are only a few different seating choices for a full room of students.
Getting more options for flexible seating, such as wobble stools and a bean bag chair, will help me give more opportunities for students to be in control of their own learning environment.
By funding this program, nearly half of my students can choose to sit in a place that will meet their learning and socio-emotional needs every day, instead of just once in a while.
