Students at BES are on fire for learning!
Our school's focus is Environmental Studies, and thus, our students show up each and every day full of wonder and inquiry about the world around them, ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. The demographics of my classroom represent the diverse population of San Bernardino County.
My Project
All students do not learn the same. My 10 and 11-year-old students, each unique in his or her own way, need flexible seating in the classroom in order to have options to create a learning environment that best suits their individual learning needs. Sitting in a chair for 7+ hours a day can be difficult for many kids, which is why they need the opportunity to move those little bodies!
I want to encourage my students to take charge of their own learning, and flexible seating allows students a degree of choice and control of their learning environment.
As a first year teacher, funding for this project will help me provide my students with a fun, comfortable, 21st century classroom that encourages communication, collaboration, and commitment to learning. Your donations will give students access to wobble stools, balance disks, yoga balls, and lap trays for floor seating.
