All students do not learn the same. My 10 and 11-year-old students, each unique in his or her own way, need flexible seating in the classroom in order to have options to create a learning environment that best suits their individual learning needs. Sitting in a chair for 7+ hours a day can be difficult for many kids, which is why they need the opportunity to move those little bodies! I want to encourage my students to take charge of their own learning, and flexible seating allows students a degree of choice and control of their learning environment. As a first year teacher, funding for this project will help me provide my students with a fun, comfortable, 21st century classroom that encourages communication, collaboration, and commitment to learning. Your donations will give students access to wobble stools, balance disks, yoga balls, and lap trays for floor seating.
