Flexible Seating for Future Scientists

Help me give my students sturdy stools for our science lab tables so they can comfortably collaborate, investigate, and engage in hands-on learning experiences.

My Project

My students are naturally curious and eager to learn through exploration. They thrive when they can work together, discuss ideas, and participate in hands-on science investigations. However, our current seating arrangement does not adequately support the collaborative nature of our science lessons. Students often struggle to comfortably gather around lab tables during experiments, STEM challenges, and inquiry-based activities.

By providing stools for our science lab tables, students will have a designated space that encourages collaboration, communication, and active participation.

These stools will allow students to easily move between whole-group instruction, small-group discussions, and hands-on investigations. Flexible seating at our lab tables will help create a true learning environment where students can think, question, explore, and discover together.

As a Title I school, many of my students have limited opportunities to engage with science and STEM experiences outside of the classroom. Our science lab tables serve as a hub for experiments, engineering challenges, data collection activities, and problem-solving tasks. Comfortable and appropriate seating will make these experiences more accessible and engaging for every student.

These stools will support a variety of learning opportunities, including:

Hands-on science investigations

STEM design challenges

Collaborative problem-solving activities

Small-group discussions

Data collection and analysis

Student presentations and demonstrations

When students are comfortable and engaged, they are better able to focus on learning. The addition of lab stools will help transform our classroom into a more functional and inviting learning space where students can work like real scientists.

Your support will provide more than just seating—it will create opportunities for collaboration, inquiry, and discovery. These stools will be used daily by current and future students as they develop critical thinking skills, teamwork, and a love for science.

Thank you for helping create a classroom where every student has a seat at the table for learning and exploration.
