Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The goal of my project is to provide flexible seating options for my special education resource classroom. By incorporating a variety of seating choices—such as wobble stools, floor cushions, bean bags, and standing desks—I aim to create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of my students.

Research has shown that flexible seating not only enhances student engagement but also supports sensory regulation, attention, and overall academic performance, particularly for students with special needs.

These seating options allow students to choose where and how they learn best, fostering a sense of independence, comfort, and control over their learning environment.

By furnishing my classroom with flexible seating, I hope to promote a dynamic space that encourages movement, collaboration, and individualized learning—ultimately contributing to improved focus, behavior, and educational outcomes for all students.
