I teach 5th grade in a diverse bilingual English and Spanish school. My students are hardworking and incredibly talented. Our school community is one that thrives on cultural responsiveness and cooperative learning. Teachers, students, and faculty show pride in our community. I enjoy cultivating a growth mindset in the classroom by teaching students to participate in productive struggle in all content areas. The curriculum we use is rigorous and challenging. While we work hard, we also play hard by using learning centers to practice strategies. Students love to display their understanding by completing art projects. We also love project based learning opportunities.
