I am fortunate enough to teach social studies and writing, in a cross-categorical special education classroom! My students are sixth-eighth grade, with a range of disabilities. My students come to school every day despite their unique differences and challenges. They come to school eager to learn and put forth their best effort each and every day.
My promise to them and their parents is that every day their child will learn something.
Some days they will bring it home in their hands, some days they will bring it home in their heads, and some days they will bring it home in their hearts.
My Project
The floor lamps and blue cellophane I am requesting will bring a comforting and relaxed feeling to our classroom. The fluorescent lights in our classroom can be very hard on students' eyes, especially as the day progresses. Many students complain of having headaches the longer they are in the classroom. These floor lamps and blue cellophane will enable me to provide a barrier for the overhead lights by covering them with blue cellophane, while the floor lamps will allow us turn off the harsh overhead lights and work in a more home-like atmosphere!
Your donation is greatly appreciated and will make such a positive impact on my students and their learning experience.
