My Students

"Children must be taught how to think, not what to think." - Margaret Mead.

My students come from extremely diverse cultural backgrounds.

Some of them have very recently moved to the United States and speak limited (or no) English, while others come from single-parent families. All of my students are excited to learn and would love having the tools and the environment to do so.

Almost 75% of the students at our school receive free or reduced price lunch, so not all students' families have the funds to purchase items for the classroom. We don't even have a PTO to help support our classrooms. We provide as much as we can, but a little help would be amazing!

I want all of my students to feel safe and motivated when they come into the classroom. The students in my classroom love to learn, and they need a flexible learning environment to make that a reality.

My Project

Students should want to come to school. Part of that is the relationship the students and teacher(s) build, and part of that is creating a safe and motivating space for children. The tables and chairs I'm requesting allow students to work together to share their ideas and apply their learning. They are also very colorful and inviting so that students will want to work in these areas.

Students who want to be at school perform better.

Help me make our classroom a warm, engaging and inviting community where all students are welcomed and loved. This furniture will help create that space.
