My Project

Over the past four years I have been writing DonorsChoose.org grants to get appropriate seating options in our academic support classrooms. This is a special education classroom where students go for a variety of reasons such as test taking, quiet place to work or a study hall type situation. Donations have purchased us stability ball chairs as well as some stools and office style chairs. This project is to get hard plastic office style swivel chairs. These chairs are easy to sanitize, unlike the cloth or leather style chairs with wheels.

Flexible seating allows students to them to increase oxygen flow to the brain, which in turn helps keep young minds more alert and focused.

The stability ball chairs are nice because they have the wheels but some students are afraid of them. These chairs in this project will provide the movement with the wheels with the safety of hard plastic.
