My third graders are a wonderful group of students from our rural town. They represent a diverse group of families, with many from low to middle income homes.
My students are avid readers, writers, scientists, mathematicians, artists, and historians!

My Project
Our class already has four of these perfect seats and we need more! Students are truly engaged and focused when they have a private, comfortable work space, or a cozy ready nook. With my class of nineteen students, I can only have four students sit on these seats at a time. Therefore, we rotate these work spaces. However, with this addition of two extra seats, I can have a whole small group of six readers, writers, scientists, historians, or mathematicians engage in their work in a flexible seat without distractions.
I think if my students could work in these spaces for most of the school day, they would be more productive and engaged!
And these comfy seats are especially conducive to students with special needs, who are easily distracted and need an adaptable working area.
