My Students

My school district is one of the most diverse districts in the state of Missouri and I am proud to be a Physical Education and Health teacher who serves 6th-8th grade students. My students come from a variety of backgrounds including academic abilities, cultures, home languages, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Our school is a Title I school, where all students receive free breakfast and lunch each day.

Despite their challenges, they come to school every day eager to learn. I cant wait to see the impact my projects will have on their physical, mental and social health when I introduce new equipment and tools for them to use! :)

My Project

As a middle school being able to quickly find your pulse is difficult. As a health and fitness educator my job is to educate my middle school kiddos to be in the healthy fitness range when they are exercising. Having these trackers can easily help my students know if they are in the healthy fitness zone or not!

I feel that most of my students struggle when finding their pulse so they don't try as hard but if they can easily check their own pulse they will be intrinsically motivated to be more fit and get into that healthy fitness zone!
