This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are resilient. Despite some of their home situations, they come to school ready and willing to learn. They treat each other with kindness and care. They are genuine and positive.

My students would greatly benefit from real-world experiences they might not get from home.

A lot of my students struggle with basic needs such as food and shelter; a few have a hard time with transportation to and from school. When my students enter my classroom I want them to feel safe and ready to learn.

My Project

Having an iPad in the classroom would allow my students to use portable technology. We would be able to do activities outside and in other areas of the school besides at the desktop computers. I would also be able to teach my students how to use QR codes and give online assignments.

Most of my students do not have access to portable technology.

The iPad would also give my students opportunities to use Apple products. Right now, they have access to Dell desktops in the classroom. Since we only have three desktop computers, the students have to rotate to use them.
