My Project

I am a first-grade teacher at an elementary school on the leeward side of Oahu, a Title I school where many of my students are of Native Hawaiian heritage. My students are hands-on learners who thrive with interactive tools, but we are currently running very low on the basic supplies that keep our daily lessons moving.

To ensure my students have the tools to write, create, and correct their work, I am requesting pencil top erasers, heavy-duty cardstock, black plastic prong folders for organization, and EXPO dry erase markers for our whiteboards.

To foster early literacy, I am seeking Scholastic Nonfiction Phonics Readers and Lakeshore Write & Wipe Word Ladders; currently, our classroom does not have many decodable readers, which are essential for practicing specific phonics skills in real-time.

I have also included primary composition notebooks and blank books to encourage my students to become authors and illustrators, along with mesh zipper pouches to keep these resources protected.

Finally, I am looking to purchase the "Shut The Box" game to help my first graders master mental math through collaborative play. Your support will help replenish our essentials and provide my Mākaha students with the engaging literacy and math resources they need to succeed. Mahalo for your generosity!
