Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our schools teach both academics and social, emotional, and behavioral skills. Often times we think of school as teaching math, reading, science, and social studies. Throughout the school day, kids are learning to interact with one another and negotiate social situations.
People often see STEM Activities, puzzles, and games as just "playing;” however, we see it as using different parts of their brains, building social and emotional skills while students are excited, engaged with their peers, and have caring adult coaching needed skills.
The puzzles and busy boards will be used to help distract students, teach them healthy ways to cope, and have fun while learning with their hands!
