Our school is developing a sensory, wellness, and connection room, warmly called the "Cubs Den." This space is a place for all students to come to learn coping strategies, regulation techniques, problem solving, and build relationships and resilience. Many of our students are navigating through food, housing, and financial insecurities, which are the most basic needs for all people, and contribute to their struggles with attendance and learning at school. All of our students want to learn and do well in school, and in life. Our families love their children, but may not always have the skills to be able to support their students in healthy ways. We have wonderful students and school community! The hygiene closet will also be managed by our students, providing an opportunity to have a "job" that helps their peers. This meaningful work opportunity will teach organization, planning, communication, and empathy.
