My students need supplies and motivation! Spring has sprung, the year is coming to an end, and the cupboard is bare. Help us keep up our momentum by refreshing our supply stash (or lack thereof).
Because of poverty, violence, or persecution, my students were not able to attend school on a regular basis in their home countries.
Now, as middle school English Language Learners here in the US, they are working to catch up.
They work hard every day to improve their own literacy levels, reach out to and help other language learners in the community, and keep positive attitudes through the huge transitions associated with middle school and family relocation and reunification. Their energy and passion in the face of hardship is inspiring.
My Project
My students have been working hard all year.
So hard, in fact, that we have run out of a lot of stuff.
Our markers are dry, our prize bucket is empty, and we need a little push to get over the finish line.
By helping out with this small list of materials, you can make a huge difference in how the fourth quarter goes for us. We want individual whiteboards and dry erase markers to help us stay engaged during formative assessments and reviews. We need construction paper for use in our final projects and we need candy to use as a little reward for our hard work. As the the bulletin board and lesson plan book are to help Mrs. Noble plan for the future and the ABC magnets are to make sure that even our lowest learners have something to work with.
